Tomás Garcilazo

¡Hola! I’m Tomás Garcilazo, born and raised in Mexico City and proud to be a third-generation Charro. For me, it all started with a dream as a kid of sharing the art of La Charrería with the world. From the time I could hold a rope, I’ve been immersed in Mexico’s national sport, and that childhood dream has guided every step of my journey.

My rope has taken me to places bigger than my dream opening doors to see the world, meet incredible people, and share my heritage far beyond what that little boy in Mexico City could have imagined. My passion for preserving and sharing Charrería has taken me across the globe, performing in some of the most prestigious arenas and events in the Western world. I’m known for my artistry with the maguey rope and my refined horsemanship, blending tradition with showmanship to keep our culture alive and inspiring. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of performing at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR), the Super Bowl of rodeo and countless other stages that celebrate Western heritage.

Today, I perform alongside my wife and children in our family act, “Charro on the Road”, traveling year-round to share the beauty of our heritage. One of my greatest joys is watching the next generation, especially my son Louis, carry on our legacy with pride and passion.

I’m deeply proud to be Mexican, while embracing and celebrating the American culture that has welcomed our family, and cherishing the French roots my wife brings into our home. In fact, something unique about our family is that we speak English, Spanish, and French every day, sometimes all at once, which makes our conversations just as colorful as our performances.

When I’m not in the arena, you’ll find me discovering the beauty of this country with my family, from wide-open plains to small-town rodeos, making memories and finding inspiration in every mile we travel. Whether performing in front of thousands or teaching one-on-one, my mission is simple: to honor the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future of Charrería, all while living out that dream I had as a little boy.

Justine Garcilazo

Bonjour, I’m Justine Garcilazo ! I was born and raised in France, where I earned my college degree in Languages and International Trade. My love for horses began when I was just 8 years old, learning to ride in the English style and spending as much time as I could around them.

Life took an unexpected turn when I fell in love with a Charro and not just with the man, but with a whole new culture. I had to learn everything about Charrería, a world so different from the one I grew up in, but so full of heart, history, and passion. I eventually moved to the U.S. to follow the love of my life, and that’s where our adventure truly began.

Today, I manage Charro on the Road, our family-run company dedicated to sharing the beauty of Charrería and the richness of cultural connection through performances across the country. I wear many hats overseeing everything from the logistics and travel planning to the creative direction of the show, including costumes, choreography, storytelling, and visual design.

Though I didn’t grow up in this world, I’ve embraced it fully sharing the beauty of this heritage wherever we go. “Charro on the Road” is more than just an act to me, it’s a way to honor the bond between cultures and to show what love, family, and tradition can look like when they ride together.

Beyond the business, I’m a devoted mother to three incredible boys, my greatest joy and the heart of everything I do. I’m also a supportive wife and proud partner in both life and work, helping bring our family’s passion to life in and out of the arena.

I’m also the official mane and tail caretaker for our horses, grooming is my therapy. I perform alongside mis charros in the arena, sharing our family’s story, strength, and love through each ride.

I’m literally the only girl in a house full of boys and I lead with a whole lot of heart, a bit of French flair and a deep passion for everything we do as a family and a team.

Louis Garcilazo

Hello ! My name is Louis Garcilazo, and I was born in 2014 in Murrieta, California. I am the older son of the family. I’m also the 4th generation Charro, following in my dad Tomás’ footsteps. I’ve been around horses, ropes, rodeo and living the western lifestyle since I was a baby.

I’m part of the family act “Charro on the Road”, where I get to share my love for Charrería and my skills as a rope artist with people from all over. Whether I’m spinning my reata, riding my horse or presenting the American flag, I give it my all.

I’ve had the honor of performing alongside my dad at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) known as the Super Bowl of rodeo in 2021 and 2022, and in 2024 I had my very first solo performance on that legendary stage!

One of my proudest moments was winning my first Youth Charro Completo in Mexico, where I competed in all the classic charro events.

I’m proud to be American and I also carry the Mexican and French cultures of my parents with pride and love. These three cultures are a big part of who I am.

Something fun about our family is that we speak English, Spanish, and French, sometimes all in the same sentence ! We’ve kind of made it our own language and it makes life even more fun and unique. I love making new friends and being trilingual helps me connect with people from all kinds of backgrounds.

When I’m not training or performing, I love being outside, riding my bike, building Legos. My parents say I am a social butterfly, always ready to try something new, and I love cheering on others just as much as I love competing myself.

I’m homeschooled and raised on the road, living a life full of adventures. I’m proud to be a young ambassador of Charrería and I can’t wait to see where this journey, my rope  in hand, takes me next!

Gaspar Garcilazo

Hi, I’m Gaspar Garcilazo ! I am the middle child of the Garcilazo brothers. I was born in 2021 in Austin, Texas, and I’ve grown up on the road with my brothers, surrounded by the traditions and values of our family.

My Dad and my older brother are charros and with my Mom they all perform at Rodeos and shows all over the country and even though I don’t know yet if I’ll ride in their footsteps, I carry the same spirit with me wherever we go.

My family calls me their little scientist because I’m full of questions, always observing, and excited to learn how everything works.

I’m happiest when I’m out exploring. I love all kinds of creatures, from lizards, frogs, and worms to sharks, whales and octopus. Nature is my playground, and I’m always discovering something new.

I’m a joyful, curious kid with a big love for the natural world and if you ever need someone to find a frog or spot a cool bug, I’m your guy!

Ulysse Garcilazo

Hi ! I’m Ulysse Garcilazo, the baby of the family. I was born in 2023 in Austin, Texas. Before I could even walk, I was already spinning ropes, well, anything I could find ! Hay twine, phone cables, shoelaces… if it looked like a rope, I was swinging it. My love for roping is something special and has been with me from the very start.

I’m completely obsessed with horses and everything about being a charro. I watch my dad and big brother all the time, learning their every move, and I’m already trying them out myself. I love to help with the horses : feeding them, brushing them, cleaning up. Whatever needs to be done, I’m there, ready to help.

Being the youngest doesn’t slow me down. I’ve got a big personality, a sharp little mind. I keep everyone on their toes, especially Gaspar, who’s usually the one getting roped.

I may be little but I’ve already got big plans. So watch out World… This charrito is just getting started!
